Olivia Propeck is from Fargo, North Dakota and is currently living in Portland, Maine. She is a ceramic artist who earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Maine College of Art & Design in 2024.
Propeck’s upbringing in the Midwest did not provide much representation of what a queer home could look like, so her work materializes the quieter moments of her own sapphic intimate relationships, domestic space, and her memory. Through illustrative and functional pottery, she focuses on bringing queer experiences, objects, and spaces physically closer to the viewer, bridging the emotional gap that can exist in a modern heteronormative society.
And when she is not making sapphic work, you will find her over her work bench making earrings and jewelry which can be found locally around markets and stores in Portland, Maine and through this website.
